Argonne National Laboratory (Argonne) is assisting the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in the implementation of a Remedial Action Plan (RAP) to address groundwater contamination at a former USDA – Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) site in York, Nebraska. (See General Site Map.pdf) The work requires the installation of a groundwater extraction and treatment system (GETS) in accordance with the Remedial System engineering design that has received State regulatory approval. This system will extract and treat (using air stripping) groundwater contaminated by carbon tetrachloride and chloroform. The contractor is to provide all necessary labor, equipment tools, supplies, and materials to successfully install the GETS system. Tasks include pre–construction planning and submittals; pre–construction meetings; site preparation and surveys prior to construction.
