(1) Vendor needs to provide dark fiber network services to recruit top research faculty that depend on high-performance, carrier-independent dedicated access to similar national and international networks to the government authority located in Lincoln, NE.
- allow the University to complete a fair and comprehensive evaluation of the dark fiber solutions proposed by all vendors that respond and to analyze and select the best option
- dark fiber network will be used to interconnect University and other educational institutions, as well as interconnect with regional, national, and global research and education network peers
- intends to acquire access to dark fiber on an existing provider's network through the traditional IRU process, however the University will also entertain options for public/private partnerships to build jointly owned infrastructure.
- installing a multi 100 Gbps and 400 Gbps wavelength capable DWDM network on the bidder's fiber
- fiber provided must be able to pass native 100 Gbps and 400 Gbps wavelengths
- entire fiber optic cable system shall be properly protected from foreign voltage and grounded with an industry-accepted system.
(2) All questions must be submitted no later than March 14, 2023.
