(1) Vendor needs to conduct a four–season waste composition study to evaluate the characteristics of Nebraska’s solid waste stream including an analysis and comparison to the government authority located in Lincoln, NE.– Conduct a new waste characterization study and quantify the results in a comprehensive report,– Provide comparisons of the new study to the results of the old Waste Study and evaluate trends,– Quantify the impact of existing recycling programs– Identify opportunities to increase waste diversion– Develop recommendations regarding programs and policies leading to a reduction of solid waste land filled and increased marketability of recyclable materials– Present results at a professional solid waste management conference.• Minimum metrics required to be reported from this study– Tons of MSW/C&D collected, recycled, composted, or managed via other management pathways– Tons of MSW/C&D generated per material type and source in the state as a result of the grant– GHGs reduced from collection, recycling, composting, or management via other management pathways.(2) All the questions must be submitted no later than June 10, 2024.(3) The contract period will be for one year.
